Finely cut for a neat finish, The Garden Family Pea Straw Mulch is naturally rich in nitrogen. Peas are a legume, so as the straw breaks down, it returns valuable nitrogen and organic matter to the soil, helping support strong, healthy garden growth.
A great choice for veggie patches, fruit trees and flower beds, it conserves soil moisture, suppresses weeds and helps protect the soil from the elements, so you spend less time watering and weeding and more time enjoying the garden.
Let’s start mulching
Before use, check health warnings and wear gloves and a mask while handling the product.
Remove all existing weeds from the area to be mulched and water the prepared soil.
If you are using Pea Straw Mulch for the first time, you’ll need to spread an even layer to a depth of 30 – 50mm.
If you are re-mulching existing areas, you’ll need to spread an even layer to a depth of 15 – 25mm.
Plants grow better when you leave a little space between your mulch and plant stems and trunks. The Garden Family Pea Straw Mulch is packed dry. Simply add water after spreading to help it settle into place, retain moisture and protect the soil from the elements.
