Around the garden, it helps lock in moisture, suppress weeds and protect soil as it slowly breaks down. Under play equipment, it provides a softer natural surface underfoot that helps cushion bumps and falls while blending beautifully into outdoor spaces. Ideal for garden beds and styling pots, this premium natural bark is slow to break down, helping protect soil and plants from weeds, erosion and temperature extremes season after season. 1. Remove all existing weeds from the area to be mulched.
2. If you are using Softscape Playground & Designer Bark for the first time, spread an even layer to a depth of 50 mm.
3. When topping up existing mulched areas, spread a fresh layer to return the bark to a depth of 50 mm.
4. Keep the bark a few centimetres away from the stems and trunks of plants.
5. Once spread, water in Softscape Playground & Designer Bark to help it settle and begin retaining moisture in the soil.
